UPGRADE bike share program.
This action focuses on boosting the use of public transit, on-demand ride services, bike- and scooter-share, as well as walking and cycling, to shift trips away from only cars. The benefits of using active and public transportation are twofold. Our community can meet our GHG reduction targets and our residents can see significant savings on monthly travel expenses. Not to mention how biking and walking daily can significantly improve able-bodied individuals short-term and long-term heart health. Less car use also equals reduced traffic congestion.

Improves public health
Policies, practices, and programs that prevent harmful pollution, promote active, healthy lifestyles, and shelter residents from weather extremes lower the risk of chronic disease and premature death. They also enhance public health and wellness, particularly for residents who are most vulnerable to environmental stressors.

Improves mobility
Investing in a network of public, shared, and active transportation options provides more affordable and accessible mobility options for all residents to reach essential amenities and services. Clean transportation options will reduce traffic volume and congestion, travel time, costs, and air pollution, leading to easier and healthier travel through the city.
